Following harmful healthcare incidents (we are talking deaths here!), the need to be sensitive to timing was something that came across very strongly. For some people, investigations moved too quickly and didn't allow for grieving or coming to terms with what happened. For others, delays prevented people from moving on and contributed to compounded harm. The need to respond meaningfully within the current system is being debated.

The always excellent #THISspace2022 has begun with a great session on harmful incidents in healthcare. There is currently discussion about what that means for different parties, and how to respond better within restorative frameworks.
