Maybe my favourite photo from this #Fieldwork trip. A polar bear footprints on the sea ice, where surface hoar crystals have grown. I'm very interested in snow and ice surface hoar, it has really important consequences for the surface energy budget - but these are a very unusual shape, perhaps due to a very cold and very stable boundary layer over a long period.
