The air above the water was full of fine rain, and then a beam of sunlight sliced down towards the headland.
Looking across Álftafjörður (Swan Fjord) and Hólsnes promontory towards Breiðafjallstindur, Goðatindur, and Sultartungnatindur¹ mountains in south-eastern Iceland.

The Power Of Sunlight
A day of showers and sunbeams. The mountains are cloud-capped and the sun is playing hide-and-seek.
As we're travelling towards Höfn í Hornafirði¹, the power lines following the roadside are caught in a blaze of sunlight from directly ahead.

10am on a dismal day in September. The Westfjords of #Iceland can be a difficult place to travel when it rains constantly; a lot of the roads are gravel and the potholes quickly fill with water.
Squelching towards Patreksfjörður, I glanced in the wing mirror back towards Ósafjörður at the end of the fjord, and was rewarded with these gorgeous sunbeams.
The bright hope of a better day to come.
