I would recommend John Paul Sartre's Being & Nothingness.... while is some sense rather dense, its central message of our choices about life, and the manner in which what we do precedes who we are is a profound message about the unacceptable excuses people make for bad behaviour.
It transformed my life when I read it in my late 20s & no other book comes close to its impact on my subsequent life.

Recommend a Book: What's Your Favorite and Why?
Need some book/audiobook recommendations. I have two Audible credits to spend before I stop the subscription. I'm pretty open.
I'm in The Way of the Kings, but have none of the rest of that series. I also have Ship of Magic, the first book of The Liveship Traders trilogy, but haven't listened to it yet. Same with the second Harry Bosch book. But next is probably 1177.

Is there a book (audiobook) version of Final Fantasy VI? Not a novelization, but any high fantasy that isn't afraid of tropes, enjoys itself, has a dozen-plus interesting characters, indulges in a little wackiness, and isn't afraid of bad doing and bad things?
