So I can’t upgrade to MacOS 26 because in Music they get rid of the checked songs (what plays). Also the interface for Music sucks the big one. #StupidAppleTricks

Today on “#StupidAppleTricks”: the playback time indicator. How stupid it is to bury something people actually use (a lot in my case) to time stuff. You have to keep your mouse hovered over the bottom of the playback bar to see it. Also, it covers The Who’s playing info. And while not as important as the time elapsed being hidden. It is a glaring error that shows design laziness.

I have 1 #Mac on #Tahoe & the other one on #Sequoia. The usability of #Music (#macOS's built in audio file player) in Sequoia is FAR better than Tahoe. Both have the same wasted space by the interfaces in anything but viewing the very entire library as songs, but Tahoe wastes more space by having rounder, thinker window borders. Also, #Tahoe has hidden track elapsed/remaining time, forcing you to mouseover the play head area to see it. Also, they got rid of the status bar. #stupidAppleTricks

It’s time for #StupidAppleTricks ( #Apple ). The widgets: They don’t act like I would like them to. They only get more obtrusive and f*’ed up if you try to customize the layout by moving the widget. If you get it too close to the icons, which is pretty far away, it moves the icons out of the way when you wanted the widget to simply stay put like 10 pixels away from the image. I use macOS & iOS as my daily driver. I’ve been saying “Fucking Apple!” More often with each update. One would think that with all the employees they have they’d be able to test better. Today I had to restart my phone when the speaker output selection locked up, making anything but restarting impossible. #StupidAppleTrick #StupidAppleTricks

This week in #StupidAppleTricks: searching your iCloud documents is glacial. Also, when you navigate to other folders, your search query is erased, and you have to type in your query yet again. I doubt #1 is fixable unless they locally cached the file names. However, #2 is just a UX choice, that could be fixed.

File Under #StupidAppleTricks: The lyrics in this song are embedded with no spaces between lines and 1 extra space between verses. This display adds extra space between lines and removes space between verses. Whomever decided this was the way to go does not appreciate lyrics.
