🔵 As Friday starts, the #nextGEMS #hackathon comes to an end. After five fruitful days of observations, programming, and modelling, the thematic groups shared their observations, analysis, challenges, and suggestions in the closing session.🌐

Thorsten Mauritsen, from the Storms&Radiation team, shared an astonishing graphical demonstration made with the #ICON model, showing how sand storms form in the Sahara region. 🌍

After a long day of #hacking 🧑🏾‍💻, we organised a World Café dynamic, where the participants exchanged thoughts on eight different topics proposed by other researchers or experts. 🤝🏼

One of the group leaders, Daniel Klocke, proposed addressing technical challenges at the km-scale, while #nextGEMS Project Coordinator Heike Konow shared some lessons learned from project collaboration. 💬
