@gregorni The main issue at hand is actually that Fretboard fetches the blue accent color on the finger dots from the contemporary Adwaita stylesheet. That color isn't defined in most custom stylesheets, namely the default one in GTK, which is basically old Adwaita in a cryonic chamber. So when the color for the dots is looked up, nothing is found, and they become transparent. The app breaks completely. And people don't realize why.
This system just doesn't work at scale.
Oh, and it also contains this. This should save both me and people with misconfigured systems from a lot of headache.
Seems like somebody managed to break Fretboard again, so here’s yet another reminder that the GTK_THEME environment variable should not be used to restyle your system for the sake of aesthetics. It’s intended for debugging. Do not set it to *anything* for day-to-day usage, and keep it in a dusty corner in the bottom of the drawer, where it belongs. Enjoy a functioning and predictable system 🙂
Tried a @kde app for the first time in a while, looks like the theming situation there is not getting better. This app is literally unusable on stock @fedora 37...

I assume Fedora's downstream stylesheet is at fault here? I really wish they would stop theming Qt, it's not making anything more consistent and just breaks stuff #stopthemingmyapp
