One of my “Minneapolis tunes” from when I was attending radio-TV broadcast school in 1982-‘83. I picked up the album this tune is on at record shop on Hennepin Avenue back then but only recently discovered this version with a little more to it guitar-wise. Almost looks like my Technics turntable setup and while the gnome is cool, I’d probably have a toy John Deere tractor there instead. 😎 It’s “I’m Leaving,” BTW.

A Monday nighty night jam: one of those tunes that’ll always remind me of Minneapolis and my time living there for a year when I was 18 and attending the radio/TV broadcast course at Brown Institute there on Lake Street. The lead guitar is really quite good.

📖 Pedro Aires Oliveira e Filipe Ribeiro de Menezes examined the use of #StatesOfEmergency during Portugal's First Republic and argue that the "suspensions of constitutional guarantees, while damaging to the quality of Portuguese democracy (...), were by no means a recent departure, having already been a feature of politics during the late constitutional monarchy."

One of those bands I became aware of while doing the broadcast school thing in Minneapolis during 1983; I scurried (as quickly as a route 7 bus could get me downtown) to a Hennepin Avenue record store (which also doubled as a head shop and where I also picked up a slightly used copy of The Sweet’s “Desolation Boulevard”) and picked up a copy of this album. The guitar work on this tune kicks.

I first heard this as an 18 year old attending broadcast school in Minneapolis in 1983 and picked up a copy of the album at a record store (remember those?) downtown one day. I’d play this track at my first radio job in Nebraska in ‘84 and it ended being one of the more requested tunes during my time there. The guitar work is actually pretty good.
