This month I wanted something short for #StandardEbooksBookClub as I'm still ploughing through #HugoAwards reading, so I'm going with The Walls of Jericho by Rudolph Fisher, one of the significant literary figures of the Harlem Renaissance (more on the author here: https://theamericanscholar.org/renaissance-man/).

Sweet dreams, NZ, maybe June’s options for #StandardEbooksBookClub will be in our inboxes when we wake up.
Finished my #StandardEbooksBookClub read, now on to novella reading for the #HugoAwards.
Still chugging through my #StandardEbooksBookClub read for the month. It’s ok, was interesting how it circled around the main character for the first half of the book, so your impression of her was always filtered through other characters’ impressions, then it switched so her own thoughts became the focus and she became a whole person.
So far my #StandardEbooksBookClub read is gossipy but not in a fun way. I like going into these knowing little about book or author. Lots of female authors this month in the #StandardEbooksBookClub selection. Currently choosing between US’s best-selling novel of 1903 and the Harper Novel Prize winner of 1925.

A very gentle klaxon reminding you to sign up for the Standard Ebooks newsletter and join us in May (eek) reading a public domain book. If the year’s going too fast for you this is your chance to turn back time. #StandardEbooksBookClub

A fairly easy choice for #StandardEbooksBookClub this month, how could I possibly resist “The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective”?
