The City of #NorthVancouver planted a pollinator meadow beside the #SpiritTrail in Lower Lonsdale. I don't know if these flowers are "native" to BC, but the bees seem to like them.
They also added some houses for Mason Bees.

An artist rendering shows a possible future route for the #SpiritTrail between St Davids Ave and Moodyville Park. Based on this, which I expect is only a concept, the Spirit Trail will be separated from Alder Street.
The temporary #SpiritTrail sections along Harbourside Drive and Harbourside Pl are now completely removed for construction. The road is open for one way, alternating traffic.
The Spirit Trail was open today between MacKay Rd and Lloyd Ave (crossing MacKay Creek). The westbound bike lane was blocked off. Hopefully the complete closure on Tuesday this week was a one off.
Lots of people attended the info session for the #SpiritTrail East extension tonight. One way to provide feedback was to add a sticky note to a map. Red = concern, yellow = opportunity, green = positive.

The 2nd info session for the #SpiritTrail East extension is Wed. March 6th at 6pm. The location changed, it is now at Kenneth Gordon Maplewood Elementary. I encourage everyone to go learn about the project and to show your support.

If you are not able to attend, please email [email protected] to voice your support this week.
Some further info and talking points, from HUB, about the project are here:

In the last 15 years I saw the #SpiritTrail progress from a concept map, to short disconnected sections, to a connected path. I hope to see the District of North Vancouver complete the Spirit Trail East Extension to Deep Cove in a few years.

I don't know when we will be able to travel from Deep Cove to Horseshoe Bay along a finished Spirit Trail, but I hope one day that the benefits of the existing section will be extended across the entire North Shore.
