Angela ChuangI was reading up on wasp parasitoids of brown widows and was amused to see their egg sacs described as "studded with silk pompons" in Triana et al. 2012. It's such an iconic look but I've struggled to describe it to lay people in the past, saying it looks like a silken mace or the spike ball from Mario.
What do y'all think? How would you describe this shape?
