Mike McCaffreyJust finished #SaturationPoint by #AdrianTchaikovsky, and it one of the weakest of his 1000s of stories, but still more thought-provoking and entertaining than most of the #SciFi out there.
It is a short little novella (the audiobook is only 4.75 hours long) that mashes up #MinistryForTheFuture, #Annihilation, and #TheIslandOfDrMoreau, in that a mad scientist is living in an uninhabitable equatorial zone where the wet-bulb temperature will quickly kill you.
