I loved how the 90s had so many networks and studios making their own SciFi show to catch the X-Files money train. We had many shows come and go, some lasted 2-3 seasons, many didn't.
Space Above and Beyond IS a fantastic series. I loved it then and every year do a rewatch since I have it on DVD.
I was even able to acquire a fanmade HD upscale that is pretty good.

30 years ago today the first episode of what I think is the greatest military SciFi space opera to ever air on TV premiered. Space Abve and Beyond, nominated for 2 Emmy’s and a Saturn award, tells the story of the 58th Squadran Space Marines and their fight against the ‘invading’ Chigs. Sadly the series only lasted for one season but a remastered version is available on YouTube. #spaceaboveandbeyond

Everyone talks about "Firefly" and how they wanted another season, meanwhile "Space Above and Beyond" just STOPPED and no one says anything! What the hell?!
