In the #BattleOfWashitaRiver, also called the #WashitaMassacre, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1868 the forces of Lt.Col. Custer attacked the #SouthernCheyenne. #BlackKettle's people had accepted peace and were on a #reservation already. ~150+ were killed, half of them women & children.
