First snow.
First snow.
@vaviurka went exploring and discovered a path down to the stream that wasn't overgrown.
It carries more water now than when I've last seen it. I expect when the winter snows melt it will be a raging torrent for a little while. It dug itself a deep valley long ago, which will safely contain it.

Today the neighbours visited. They were a little monotone. Mostly just said moo.

The old man is moving out today. His friends are coming for a visit one by one, and meeting us in the process.
They seem to approve of us. After a short chat, the strange foreign husband (me) was assessed as "normalus vyras" (a normal guy). I'll take that as compliment, even if it may not be true.
We also met the guy who mowed the lawn for some cash and moonshine. May be useful. We had a helper like this in the village sometimes.
#HouseSearch concluded. We bought the place. Followed by coffee with the daughter who managed the sale.
Then the old man gave us the tour, one key at time, showing us his treasures and saying goodbye to all his stuff (he's taking very little).
He was disappointed that his treasured gasoline barrel had rusted through and evaporated long ago.
Unfortunately he absolutely had to demonstrate his blank gun to us that he kept under his pillow, so we're half deaf now.
Arrived, inflating air mattresses for the night. Notary tomorrow.
Old, old house. And barns. Fields. Old junk everywhere. So much work. But it's a chance at finding a home. Are we really doing this?
The very old owner is in the other room, singing a dirge. He will stay for another week.
Bedroom is full of flies because apples were stored here.
