The MessageSphere is adjacent to the Astral plane. By projecting into the astral plane wizards can spy on SpherePersonas and gather information - called astral hacking. The most infamous astral hackers are called Giths.
By casting defensive spells, encryption traps can be placed around a SpherePersona creating mazes, false information and other harmful effects targeting astral hackers.

World of BirdBook is a D&D world of magical social media (and a silly thought experiment) where flame wars and Trolling manifests in the most literal ways.
Dragons are individuals transformed into a mighty beings of good and evil by the amount of followers they have. 10.000 is enough to reach the first levels of dragonhood and by reaching further levels of followers new age categories are reached (an ancient dragon is not 'old', it has millions of followers).

AC is 10+Wis mod. Attacks are offensive posts (d20+Int mod) against the SpherePersona. Special attacks are Memes (requires the feat Memetic Attack) and Toxic Comments (stopped by Protection from Evil spell). Critical hits (nat 20) and fumbles (nat 1) causes Viral Posts that infect other users.
In this world of #DnD #SoMeRPG trolls are particularly dangerous in the MessageSphere, as they regenerate damage not caused by Flame War attacks or Acidic Remarks.

Time for some world building just for fun. This is the #DnD #SoMeRPG setting World of BirdBook.
15 years ago the InstaCrystal exploded in the sky spreading shards everywhere. Anyone can imbed a shard in their skin granting them access to MessageSphere. They can post in the MessageSphere by willing brief messages through the embedded crystal as well as receive and see public messages.
The crystal creates a SpherePersona. The persona has 4hp +chr mod pr level/hd of the crystal's wearer. 1/n

"A critical succes will result in your post going viral with 30% chance of being picked up by MS media and 10% chance of generating a new meme."

SoMe in #ttrpg is an area particularly for sci-fi games to explore. Yet, besides the Transhuman Space rpg (ie Toxic Memes supplement) I don't recall having seen anyone try to make something interesting with it.
