Artists from around the globe are in Stillwater this week for the World Snow Sculpting Championship. Twelve teams from eight countries are chiseling their designs out of 10-foot-tall blocks of snow along the St. Croix River in downtown Stillwater. This year’s event will feature several animals and a couple of abstract designs. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2024/01/19/teams-turning-blocks-of-snow-into-works-of-art-in-downtown-stillwater
I’m looking forward to seeing the National #SnowSculpting Championship works at #LakeGeneva #Wisconsin next weekend. https://www.visitlakegeneva.com/winterfest/teams/
I last went in 2019 but after judging with a bit of warm weather. Not all of the sculptures survived well, but I think a crumbling sculpture really captured a mood.
I do like taking snow critter pics.
As the second photo shows, I did remove some snow to make the big bullying beast on top of my wind-breaker hedge stand out more.
I made no changes at all to the cute little fellow halfway up the right side of the hedge. He is exactly as I first saw him.
(I did use a stick to give the big lizard-y brute an eye.)
(You know the drill; if you like this, please boost, so others have the chance to see this.)
