Indeed, perhaps it has been so long many have forgotten what an anti-hero is and so take Oppenheimer to be the hero of the story. The story has no hero. In many ways, the narrative portrayal of Oppenheimer reminded me of that classic anti-hero from literature, Billy Pilgrim from #Slaughterhouse5 by Kurt #Vonnegut, unstuck in time.
Ruth MottramI fell down a bit of a #wikipedia rabbit hole reading up on #Dresden after finishing #Slaughterhouse5 yesterday. I'd always assumed the #Firestorm was almost accidental, but they knew *exactly* what they were doing.
And they'd already practiced on #Hamburg.

NarfingerFinished #Slaughterhouse5. One of the great have to read books and it is actually good. It is funny and sad at the same time. There is probably not anything i can say that hasn't been said yet. But it really gives you some nihilistic tendencies.

Clem ByardThe Worm Ouroboros changes direction after the first chapter or so (first 1 - 2 chapters are very clunky)
And it is never a very easy read, so I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone
But I think it is very strange in a good way
