On shunting inhibition in Drosophila: what else could the GABAergic Choosy LNs be doing onto olfactory PNs in the antennal lobe? Their synapses are positioned just so, much closer to the root of the dendritic tree than any other inhibitory input synapes from other LN types line Broad LNs or Picky LNs.
