Can we please have one international standard for #shoesize? I don't care if it's #metric , I just don't think shoe sizes should go up to 13 by age four, then start over at 1 for kindergartners, then have completely different scales by gender and national origin.

I’ve upped my #shoesize & #bootsize from US9 to US9.5

I’ve found that with my issues (#arthritis, bad knees, bad back) it was a painful hassle just putting boots & shoes on.

The bending, the twisting my feet, doing up the laces etc.

As of today my yard boots are 9.5 laced boots - but with a side zipper.

Being a little larger I can get my feet into a little easier as well.

So when I need to put in my boots it’s now just slip my feet in & do up the #sidezipper.

Much, much better for me.

Inspired by a random comment on Discord: are you older, younger, or just as old as your (European) #shoeSize?

Just stumbled across a Dull Men’s Club on Fb. Some of the posts were hilarious, and, for some unknown reason, they all share their shoe size. ??

Then, wouldn’t you know it, I found a Dull Women’s Club. They also share their shoe size! What the heck?? Then I saw a Dull Man posting in the women’s group… And I wondered, is this actually a #dating site ???

Shoe size: 7.5, if it matters

#TIL #ShoeSize: The barleycorn is an old English unit that equates to 1⁄3 inch (8.47 mm). This is the basis for current UK and North American shoe sizes, with the largest shoe size taken as twelve inches (a size 12) i.e. 30.5 cm, and then counting backwards in barleycorn units, so a size 11 is 11.67 inches or 29.6 cm.

It might sound odd but it varies...usually 10 - 10.5 👟

1) An Example:
Does your #shoesize have an effect on your #income? If you look at the c#orrelation between shoe size and income, you will indeed find out: People with bigger feet have on average a higher salary!
But does that really mean that shoe size has an effect on income? No, because: Gender has an effect on both shoe size and income - so it's a #confounding factor in this context!
