So #Rambam’s explanation is the simplest one. But it is something I can relate to living in #Asia. I can’t even bring myself to imagine setting foot into a (Buddhist or Shinto) temple in #Japan while wearing my shoes!

I’ve basically done everything on my list except for the blog post draft. But I’ve an urge to read this week’s #parsha, #shemot, so I’m doing that and then will see how I feel.

Why did Pharaoh want to kill the male Israelite children? Rashi says:

“He was particular only about the male children because his astrologers had told him that there was to be born to a Hebrew woman a son who would become their deliverer (Exodus Rabbah 1:18).”
