Big Update!
I have just released the layout tool to my website. It allows you to create cutting layouts, so you can determine the amount of fabric you need for a specific sewing pattern. You can also download the cutting layout to use with your projector.
Find the layout tool here: https://www.dressdeveloper.com/layout/

If you're interested, this is my favorite PJ bottom pattern. Size inclusive, easy to follow instructions, super comfy.
Now that I'm reading more about it, it sounds like one of the options is that the pattern companies could be sold on. It doesn't have to mean disolution, I was too shocked by the term liquidator to realise that. It's also very early days yet.
"Hamilton also pointed out a significant ancillary role that the Big 4 play in the indie sewing pattern ecosystem. “They also own the last pattern tissue printers in the country, and that is significant to all the other pattern companies that rely upon it.”"
Whoa -- *two* people who run independent pattern companies mention this as a possible disaster for them, because the physical machinery had been centralized. That's complicated.
@vmbrasseur an aspect of the JoAnn saga I didn't expect.
Does this mean all of the big 4, or those in the US? Are they the same thing?
Wife is trying to learn how to make kids clothes but the patterns from Spotlight don't seem very good. Anybody got any suggestions for good sewing patterns that don't assume already know how to sew?
Made McCalls 7576 flaring pants for a friend. She wears them well!
