I loved the clarification in your rewording
First, it removes the reification of anything, like passive consumption goods at our disposal
But it is not only "truth": it also the "complexity of truth"
That's why I loved your edit
I just pushed it one level further, then again one level further
There's a proverb in Zen
The master, when he puts the finger on the table. He feels the veins of the trunk that was used. The gestures of the carpenter, and his tools. The resin that flowed through the tree. The birds that sung on his branches and winds that made it swing. The rains that made it grow, and the sun that warmed its leaves. When he sees the rain, he see also the clouds, and the oceans that made the clouds... And behind the sun, he sees the whole universe... When the Master puts the finger on the table: he sees the universe
I have reworded it from memory
I think that's my favourite #Zen lesson
In spirit, that's close to the 5 why's question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_whys
And also your edit was in phase with my approach slowly embracing #sentientism and #antispeciesism
That's also the reason I used the word #symbiocene
I saw a researcher used this word once. It is a nice concept.
Interested in a fresh, modern worldview based on ancient ideas?
Thanks to Culham St Gabriel and Fiona Moss for publishing my blog about the #Sentientism worldview's "evidence, reason, and compassion for all sentient beings."
I love talking to people about how to make a better world. And their philosophical and worldview journeys, particularly when they lead towards #Sentientism ‘s “evidence, reason and compassion for all sentient beings” 😊
Which are your favourites?

"Evidence, reason and compassion for all sentient beings." Sentientism is a simple worldview or philosophy that suggests how we should decide what is true and who should matter morally. It's committed to using evidence and reason and grants moral consideration to all sentient beings. Sentience is the capacity to experience things - whether bad (suffering) or good (flourishing). In practical terms, most people interpret current science as indicating that sentient beings are, so far, human and non-human animals.

OK, OK, I get it. #Sentientism is a bit of a mouthful. It has 5 syllables! 😮
But Christianity has 5 too and they seem to have done alright 🙂
And then there's Zoroastrianism! 😱
There are better reasons to pick a #Worldview
