My skim-informed opinion is that unless search results of the type provided by Google around 2015 are available then further advancement is superfluous to the needs of users such as myself. Advances in dross will still be dross.

I'm a domestic level search user. As a hobby I used search engines, often Google, to find recorded music metadata and then enter it into #Musicbrainz.
The paper looks like it should easily encompass my experience. And offer thoughts about how things might improve.
But having got to 4. reading closely I concluded that the focus of the writers was actually elsewhere and only skimmed the rest.
