From my Sketchbook / Journal / Scrapbook 1977-1987 ... Pen & Ink sketches of my co-worker + flatmate Anita that I turned into postcards. It's funny how certain people inspire art - I drew Anita numerous times. A bit awkward in real life ... it seemed a guise for a coolness + elegance that few actually possess.

Although we have lost touch I remember her every time I hear Joe Jackson or the The because she introduced me to both and they became absolute favorites of mine .... Thank you Anita! 💜💜💜

From My Sketchbook 1977-1987: Something I took when I left home was a little tin of watercolors + a red platic pen with a small bottle of ink that my mother had laying around the house. These were easy to carry and so most of my art back then involved playing with those 2 things. I had no formal art training aside from what my mother had taught me (she was a highschool art teacher). Since I now use ink pens that I buy, I'd forgotten about the process of actually dipping the pen into the tiny bottle! And after I discovered oil pastels I rarely went back to watercolor ...

I remember taking a photo in this graveyard but can't for the life of me recall where it was!
