Christmas Eve, which means a night walk around the graveyard. I have no relatives or friends on this graveyard but where ever I am on Christmas I always bring a candle to the one spot where people usually put candles for loved ones who are buried elsewhere and place one for those who are no longer in my life.

Graveyards are also such lovely spots to walk around in. They’re quiet and good places to reflect and be calm with one’s own thoughts.

Lyndoch Cemetery, Lyndoch, South Australia.

The cemetery dates back to 1855 when it began as a private burial ground administered by trustees of the Congregational denomination.

Control of the cemetery was transferred to the Barossa West Council in 1888. Today, the Lyndoch Cemetery is under the care of The Barossa Council.
