A photo from our friends’ Macbeth reading. I was unable to participate, but one of the witches in this picture is my wife.
I told her she makes a good witch, but she gave me the stinkeye.

Our little Shakespeare group has done round-the-table readings of Hamlet and Midsummer Night's Dream. Tonight we'll be reading Macbeth. My wife and 14yo expended a fair bit of energy creating props and costumes, including this lovely decapitated head.

If I recall correctly (do I?), one of them told the others how she had sent a storm after a ship whose master's wife had offended her.
Woo! Just got tickets for https://macbethwestend.co.uk/ with David Tennant and Cush Jumbo!
Reasonably priced tickets still available (albeit some behind pillars).
A spellbinding story of love and murder, the renewing power of nature, and of the internal struggles of a damaged man as he tries to control his destiny. This bracingly fresh production of the Scottish play uses binaural sound technology to place us inside the minds of the Macbeths, asking are we ever really responsible for our actions?
To celebrate the 400th anniversary of publication of Shakespeare's first folio, here are historical romance author, Shehanne Moore and me, along with our gracious host, Rebecca Budd, channeling our inner witches...
Yes, it's THAT scene from the Scottish play (the name of which may never be uttered in a theatre). Light your cauldron, sit back and enjoy...

This sounds fascinating: “The idea [for the play] came from a frustration that there are so many female characters in Shakespeare's plays, living inside fascinating circumstances, who do not get the amount of text — or the stage time — the male characters do.”
