There are now more "pink slime" newspapers in the U.S. than there are genuine daily local newspapers. @AxiosNews reports that there are at least 1,265 websites that are backed by dark money or masquerading as local news sites for political purposes, whereas as of last year, there were 1,213 daily local papers.
