The legacy #Saucedacity repo maintenance has been complete.

Indeed, we did make a post about it but deleted it as there might've been more repo maintenance to have been performed, but this was ultimately enough.

The motivation for the maintenace was to move legacy Saucedacity tags out of the #Tenacity repo. That also means we'll be deleting the release pages for Saucedacity in the Tenacity repo too. They will be uploaded to the Internet Archive first, however.

Quick announcement: we are going to take down #Saucedacity's repo and update it to include some previously missing tags. It will temporarily go private and we'll update it to include tags of releases. The main #Tenacity repo will NOT be affected.

Some time ago, when the Steam Deck first came out, @gperson had wondered if you could get #Saucedacity running on it. Since the Steam Deck was more or less a standard PC (for al intents and purposes), you could run the AppImage at the time just fine.

Since we've merged with that fork, well, you can do the same with #Tenacity...except now you can install #Tenacity via #Flathub! And this applies to other SteamOS devices too!

Wow. Just, wow.

macOS Intel successfully builds AND package on the 1.3.5.

I think it's a safe assumption that the Apple Silicon build will also also. HOWEVER, I need to make sure that the builds are actually packaged right. Back in #Saucedacity, I recall having to deal with an improperly packaged bundle, even despite everything building successfully.

Back when #Saucedacity was a thing, I always wondered if there was any point in continuing with maintenance of the project. I always reassured myself that if there was any reason to continue, it would be for fun! In retrospect, that *definitely* paid off, and it paid off _very_ well.

Now, with #Tenacity, I have similar thoughts, but more so about how many people are using it. Sometimes, I'll think that it's not too big of a project, but at the same time, I'll realize that there will be people who have mentioned Tenacity here and there. At least, sometimes when I search "tenacity audio" on Reddit (it's my way of informing myself about how people are using Tenacity :P), going over to the comments section, I will see people mentioning Tenacity for audio editing and the likes. Not necessarily in the context of Audacity (though that definitely still happens), just in the context of audio editing.

But why do I still talk about this on occassion? Because, to my best guess, I don't fully comprehend that this was the result of just starting something as a hobby and continuing forward with it.

For the record, as of 2025-09-21 at 10:23 PDT, Tenacity is packaged for these projects:

- Arch Linux
- Chocolatey
- CRUX
- Gentoo GURU
- GNU Guix
- Haiku
- KaOS
- LiGurOS
- MacPorts
- Manjaro
- nixpkgs
- OpenMandriva Cooker
- pacstall
- Parabola
- PCLinuxOS
- T2 SDE

That's already quite a lot! 🤯

Wow, #Tenacity is coming along...

Version 1.3 Beta 3 fixed an annoying bug when trying to open multiple files/windows.

The one thing i'm still missing to feel perfectly at home would be working LV2 support. For that, i still need to launch #Saucedacity.
