@micchega I once acquired two bottles of #Sassicaia… Kept them in a dedicated climate-controlled warehouse etc. until I took them out and then… BOTH were corked 😭 💔

Two amazing wines, one iconic producer & two very different vintages. Both delicious but the 1999 #Bolgheri #Sassicaia from a fantastic vintage was the winner, boasting great aromatics, juicy red fruits, spice, elegance & energy. Still has years to go. The 2000 from a warmer, drier vintage was more exotic & ready now but so savory. Drink soon.

Mercredi 14 octobre, la police transalpine a annoncé avoir arrêté deux personnes accusées d’avoir produit et d’avoir essayé de vendre plus de 4 000 bouteilles d’un vin “ordinaire”, en le faisant passer pour du Bolgheri Sassicaia ; un grand cru toscan, qui peut valoir plusieurs centaines d’
