WOW sums it up, and perfect for the occasion. 30yrs old, this #ElioAltare 1992 #LaVilla Red Table Wine was given to me by Elio 10 yrs ago. It just amazes with vibrancy, fruit & depth. A blend of #Barbera & #Nebbiolo it shows wild berry, incense, tobacco, cured meat and licorice framed in polshed tannins & fresh acidity. A smoky finish tops it off. Still has years to go. Just incredible.

Two amazing wines, one iconic producer & two very different vintages. Both delicious but the 1999 #Bolgheri #Sassicaia from a fantastic vintage was the winner, boasting great aromatics, juicy red fruits, spice, elegance & energy. Still has years to go. The 2000 from a warmer, drier vintage was more exotic & ready now but so savory. Drink soon.
