Fatal story behind flawed photo...

The photo shows St. #Magdalene #Square and the statue of Piotr #Skarga in its center. The story of Skarga's death still arouses #horror today. Fryderyk #Chopin knew about this horrible affair and that's why before his burial he demanded that his heart be removed from his chest.... But to the point:

Piotr [Pyotr] Powêski [Povesky] a.k.a. Piotr Skarga arms-bearing Powęża [Powêzha] (1536-1612) was a #court #preacher to Sigismund III #Vasa, king of #Poland. He was also a pious #Jesuit and an extremely #righteous man. It was certain that he would be #canonized by the #Vatican after his death. However, he was not, as there were suspicions that he may have cursed #God in his last moments of life. Why? Well, when his corpse was exhumed, damages were noticed on the #coffin lid, resulting from the desperate scratching at it by a man #buried #alive, albeit in a state of #clinical #death from which he had already awakened in a #mortal #trap. Today Piotr stands on a high pedestal, facing the facade of the #Church of #Saintst #Peter and #Paul, where his mortal remains rest.

Postscript

Adding irony to horror: "Skarga" is a meaningfull name, its English equivalent would be either "Complaint" or "Moaning".
