As we all know "enforcing" car laws against cyclists is done very selectively, and can be used in racial profiling. @massbike.bsky.social is supporting #SafetyStop legislation in Massachusetts that would allow bikers to treat stop signs as yield, improving safety malegislature.gov/Bills/194/HD...

Safety Stop makes streets safer for people biking

I admit I had often proceeded through a stop sign before we got the Safety Stop law here a few years ago. The one time I got in trouble was when I ran a stop sign near home, without knowing a police car was right behind me. I got away with a verbal warning, with the officer saying "At least slow down a bit, okay?" 😅

In my defence, it was a quiet neighbourhood with very little traffic...
