Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer (FSSR) Speak Out: “The Church Is Being Dismantled from Within”

This epistle consists of an introduction to and the full text of an Open Letter issued by the Congregation of the Sons of the Most Holy Redeemer (FSSR), a group of traditional Catholic priests known as the Transalpine Redemptorists. The letter, written from their monastery in Scotland, declares their firm belief that the Traditional Catholic Faith is incompatible with the modern Church resulting from Vatican II. The priests cite their recent expulsion from New Zealand by a bishop unsympathetic to the Traditional Latin Mass as an example of ongoing persecution. The main focus of the letter is a strong repudiation of numerous actions and teachings of the modern hierarchy, including documents like Amoris Laetitia and Fiducia Supplicans, which they view as betrayals of the Gospel. Ultimately, the FSSR calls upon other faithful Catholics to reject the current direction of the Church and defend the immutable Faith.

Authored by five young men and a young woman in their 20s from various dioceses across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, this petition below, which I liken to an encyclical of a saintly Pope because of its firm pro-tradition message, was sent to the Episcopal Commission on Doctrine of the Faith (CBCP-ECDF). It urges church leaders in the Philippines to provide a clear public response to guide Filipinos on the importance of Catholicism for salvation and how to draw the line between evangelization and being “friendly” with non-Catholics. So far, these young heroes have received no response from the office. More info about this work here.
