Watching #StarTrek: #TheAnimatedSeries (#STTAS) for the first time. Feels a bit like Christmas, watching all these “new” episodes I've never seen before, starring Nichelle Nichols, DeForest Kelley, George Takei, Majel Barrett, James Doohan, Leonard Nimoy, and William Shatner! 😻

(The only regular from #TheOriginalSeries missing is Walter Koenig as Chekov. Turns out they were short on money so they didn't hire him except as a script writer for one episode.)

So just finished another rewatch of Psych, including all 3 movies. Usual post series sadness  but at least not post series rage that comes all too often because it was killed off long before its time (8 seasons and 3 movies is pretty darn good). PLUS I just looked it up, and not only are they doing another movie, but THREE more movies. 😲 Wild. This show just won't stop.

And I found out that Shawn's dad was Q2 on ST:TNG. Huh.

AND today marks the premiere of yet *another* series for Ranma 1/2, also being shown on Netflix. First episode was well done. Apparently most of the original case is in it too. This'll be fun.

Watching ST:TAS for bedtime because I haven't seen most of them. They're better than I remember. Well, not the animation of course, but the plots are decent. At least the two eps I've seen so far. Kinda wish they'd redo the animation though, it's a bit painful to watch. Still, getting some of those good ol' TOS vibes.  

Still gotta figure out something to watch now for when I eat.

Watched #TheInfiniteVulcan episode of #StarTrek #TheAnimatedSeries over the holiday weekend so now I know where the giant #Spock skeleton in #LowerDecks came from.
Also, I really like how they de-escalated the conflict in that #TAS episode. They literally just talked him out of doing the bad thing and it was great.

I've started watching Star Trek The Animated Series!

I've held off for decades because I thought the outdated and low-cost animation, even for its time, would be a deal breaker for me. It's not, and the generally rather wooden voice acting isn't either. I just take them as style choice, I'm really in it for the stories.

I'm enjoying the compressed 20-minute stories, the more alien aliens that animation allows on the bridge and off it, the stories and dialogue have a touch of humor that TOS never allowed to this extent and, well, it's more Trek to watch as I wait for the next episode of SNW.
