Afgelopen woensdag ging het Europees Parlement akkoord met een verlenging van de wettelijke uitzondering die onlineplatforms toestaat om content zoals chatconversaties te controleren op kindermisbruikmateriaal. Maar massasurveillance is niet toegestaan, met dank aan een amendement van de Piratenpartij uit Tsjechië.

In a sensational turn of events in the fight against Chat Control, a majority in the European Parliament voted today to end the untargeted mass scanning of private communications. In doing so, the Parliament firmly rejected the error-prone and unconstitutional surveillance practices of recent years.

The push for these laws and policies are nothing more than blatant attempts to turn every single hoster, developer, moderator, etc... into criminals for not making users easy to spy on by states or have data harvested from by corporations. But the assholes pushing this shit forget something, the same people they are targeting hold up the entire internet. Go ahead and keep calling your politicians, but I think it is time to go further.

This is a call for a #CyberRiot to remind them. Start with injecting warnings that they are forced to see, but have actions ready.
