This week’s stickers go out to Illinois & India. Want one? Post a pic or vid of your work from either #SwiftUI bit.ly/prof-g-swiftui or #CircuitPython bit.ly/circuitpython-school using #BuiltWithProfG & you’re in the weekly random drawing. #STEMeducators using content, LMK & I’ll send to ur class.
If any #STEMeducators teach with #CircuitPython and are looking for small student challenge projects - here are a bunch I used in a 2.5 hr. exam that I gave my students today using a CircuitPlayground & Raspberry Pi Pico + various components. The video shows build demonstrations. I'll post solutions on my channel in the coming days. It's a very noisy exam. https://youtu.be/T-RF5McJHD4

Wow. Hadn’t expected a random unsolicited $100 thanks for my YouTube content today. I don’t solicit donations but it was super nice to receive. Will of course apply to my own learning. Am thinking more seriously about creating a summer bootcamp for #STEMeducators who want to teach iOS app building and/or maker programming with CircuitPython. Daunted by the startup of marketing, securing venue and tech backup, but definitely leaning toward this.
#SwiftUI friends, programming students, #STEMeducators I'm updating my Zero-to-Full-Stack iOS course, which I teach "flipped-class" style at Boston College. I've just finished refreshing Ch. 6, which is an intro to API-calling, JSON-parsing, paged JSON, image loading & more, using the Pokemon API to create a simple Pokedex. Students seem to really enjoy this & I'm glad I've refreshed this for the current semester. Have at it & lemme know if you like it! https://bit.ly/swiftui-pokedex
Before you continue to YouTube

More stickers going out today. If you build something from the build videos on my YouTube channel & tag me plus #BuiltWithProfG with a pic/vid of your goodness, you might be selected for weekly stickers drawing. And teachers, if you use my CircuitPython and/or Swift lessons I can send a stack to your class. #Makers #STEMeducators YouTube.com/profgallaugher
If you are trying to teach tech to new students (or creating tutorials) don’t over-assume what folks know. I teach top tier students but not everyone knows how to use Terminal, pip, brew, GitHub, and there are bright students who may not have learned basic shortcut keys for things like app switching, Spotlight, etc. #STEMeducators need to constantly remind themselves to go slow & say aloud everything they do during demonstrations or they’ll lose some otherwise capable students.
