OK, so I now know the NVRAM/TOD battery is probably expired but I have managed to boot into Debian on the #Sparcstation20 with my own account and the root account which is pretty amazing! took a while to cycle through all my 'expired' passwords in #KeePassXC to get into the root account.
this was my exim4, proftpd and apache2 webserver back in the day.
I was thinking about putting #NetBSD on it as there is still a 'sort-of-supported' port which is better than an obsolete distro.

I haven't used my #Sparcstation20 for well over a decade, it's a beautiful bit of kit so I thought I'd give it a power-up.
Good news is that it still does power-up. Bad news ID prom errors so I will have to dig out the old knowledgebase to reset the NVPROM. If I can get past that, next challenege will be remembering my and the root logins to see what is is running. It's #debian but I can't recall the version.
I can only connect via serial console.
I have a beautiful #sparcstation20 that I have not used for years and it is about time it felt the flow of electrons and did something useful!
I used to have it connected to a linux terminal via a serial cable so i will dig that out
However, does anyone know how I can connect a modern HDMI or VGA monitor to the 13W3 connector? I never managed this before
It has a very old version of debian on there. Is there anything still supported?
