Dead Fern
Nephrolepis exaltata often survive winter die-back even when lush fronds are absent above the soil. Resolute inattention however can assure a fern that is fully dead, a companion for those who exult in the sonorous interior life. Empty societal norms deserve nothing but ghostly rustling in reply anyway. The delicate rictus of decayed fronds hearkens to memory of loss, to green denied, succour withheld where once a torrent of phyllobilins stormed. Let nothing impede exploding photons from the Sun. Hold dead-rooted, only quaver as time passes from stars into sinewaves, each scorched link along the path signaling our raging senecence.

A moustache twirled sufficiently and held in place with tears can serve, the way cats' own whiskers do, as antennae directing vibrations to the philtrum where they resonate uniquely between septal and orbital bones amplifying gravity waves so weak as to be otherwise undetected despite playing their fundamental role in spinning the Sun. To all face-shorn humankind, Chris Cooper brings withering critique of fear's own coping mechanism: Logic. Mindful of human cowardice, he myofascializes weak forces upon amplifying waves, directing gravity through his own hands into heaps of pie cutters, spinning tops, stiff brushes, long strings, and power amplifiers, gently emboldening all who must one day perish.

Tapes, synths and a contact mic buried deep inside the enfleshed animated skull of an artist. In league with cicadas, Chida (nee, Buried Machine) vanished from sight for a decade, brooding underground near Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture in Japan. But this year in a chewing apocolyptic hatch, he obliterates the Sun in shrouds of overwhelming volume moving up the Pacific coast. "Like a machine ocean" as Ruby Ray described his music. Pouring into the Peacock Lounge, comes the revelation that industrial noise innoculates against glib cultural demise. Don't be late for your lifesaving dose. Chida is also a master brewer of India Pale Lagers!

Liz Allbee, Jason Stamberger, and Jake Rodriguez bear gifts of futures past, some assembly required because what's about to go down will be hard to believe unless you're inside the Peacock Lounge with them. Forged in the Bay Area underground back in 1996 when Stamberger (Crack W.A.R., Earwicker) and Allbee (Mute Socialite, Neung Phak) first performed together eventually forming the short-lived legendary band Le Flange du Mal. Then in 2003, the menacing mesomorph of Jake Rodriguez (bran(...)pos, Compomicro-Dexall) intersected their orbit which rocketed from house-show basements to mainstage theaters across decades and thousands of miles. This rare live session will be Allbee's only Bay Area show, occasioned by a visit from her home in Berlin. #ExperimentalMusic #SFPeacockLounge

Remediation, re-failure, detention, jammed locker, Christmas is cancelled. Then you wonder if poisoning the holidays wasn't his secret scheme all along. Torturing that teacher, smiling from the stockades, the student becomes the sadist. If Stegall's infamous music history with Mono Pause, Neung Phak, and his collaborations with the likes of James Goode or Malcolm Mooney and the 10th Planet are any clue, and they are... we've all been had.

Renouncing essences or absolutes Mitch Stahlmann and Chris Farstad may brandish cracklebox and electronic wind instrument, but really nothing is needed other than infinity and nowhere. Somewhere between sits the Peacock Lounge and inside sits you and inside sits silence and inside sits sound. That is, if you can be there at all.
