*When* Labor loses an election (probably to a One Nation government), the #RustedOn crowd will rage about how "racist" the populace is, and conveniently forget things like this.

Labor have been owned for near 50 years, why would you assume that Albanese is weak & pathetic when he is the leader of the party which introduced Australia to Neoliberalism in 1983, that he grew up in? This #Rustedon myth of Labor being "basically good, but weak" needs to be laid to rest #auspol

@msdropbear42 @robmac Actually, yes there is an Australian term for loyalist political voters: "rusted-ons." These voters remain steadfastly loyal to their chosen party, no matter what. It highlights just how deeply ingrained political loyalty can be in our society. I just found out about this term—it's never been used in my circle of family and friends, probably because we were rusted-ons! #AusPol #RustedOn #PoliticalLoyalty
