I keep hearing how the ban on shifts and the probable increase in stolen bases (for increased base sizes) will lead to more offence, but I suspect the increased propensity for infield singles and less double plays to be nearly as impactful.

Do we expect mlb teams to shift away from strictly longball batters towards more speedy slap and spray hitters in valuation (and will that take years to filter up through all the levels and drafts)?
