Saw #RubyGillman Teenage Kraken. Totally missed the theatrical release and Mastodon doesn't even auto-complete the hashtag. Did it flop?

The wibbly-wobbly style of animation is a pleasure to watch and feels innovative. Also, I love subsurface scattering and the shading has a LOT of it. 🤩

But it certainly feels like a "small" movie. Moreover: girl, highschool, coming of age, body changing to something huge. Heyyyy. didn't we see this plot in "Red" already?
