Remembering Royal (Edward) Dano (1922-1994), the great American character actor, born in Santa Monica #onthisday, 100 years ago. An often imposing presence in almost 200 films and TV shows, and a regular in westerns (notably #JohnnyGuitar, 1954), his memorable genre roles included as the reclusive painter in #MessiahofEvil (1973) and Tom Fury in #SomethingWickedThisWayComes (1983). Among his final appearances was as Judge Sternwood in #TwinPeaks (1990).
