Auf dem Rückweg haben wir bei #Roundwood noch einen See mit einen alten #Birkenwald besucht. Der See, Vartry Reservoir, ist ein Stausee: Im 19. Jahrhundert litt #Dublin an Krankheiten, wie #Cholera, die von unsauberem Wasser ausgelöst wurden. Der Arzt #Sir_John_Gray setzte sich dafür ein, dass die Stadt mit frischem #Trinkwasser versorgt wurde.1868 wurde dazu der Fluss #Vartry bei #Roundwood aufgestaut, 1923 wurde dann noch ein zweites Reservoir flussaufwärts gebaut.
