#GreatAlbums1990s - #TragicallyHip– #RoadApples (1991). Kingston, Ontario’s finest could hardly get arrested outside Canada, which is a shame, because their unpretentious roots rock was both lyrically literate and cleanly executed – like middle Stones without the smack or Midnight Oil with duller politics. “Little Bones,” “Three Pistols” and “Born in the Water” are frenetic highway anthems fuelled by the charismatic Gord Downie’s goat warble of a voice.
