I rarely impulse buy games on sight but did you know that @cyanworlds has released a 3D remake of #Riven featuring free movement and all?
It's a faithful recreation of the original so I couldnβt help myself
(especially since it runs natively on macOS and even offers fancy things like #metalfx upscaling)

In general, things are where one might expect to find them, but the game doesn't go out of its way to shout "here's a thing you can push/pull/turn" at you.
In particular when you're in less well lit areas, something like a rusty handle on a door might not stand out. And the interaction model requires you to open such a door by clicking on the handle, not just anywhere on the door. Which is not unreasonable, but it's taking some getting used to.
I've started playing the 2024 Riven remake (having never played the original back in the day), and am having fun so far, but, wow, it's a big shift from the aggressive sign-posting of interactable objects in modern games.
I have been stuck for a while multiple times due to missing, not some tricky puzzle solution, but a basic object -- twice it has been door handles -- spending time looking for some elaborate mechanism when all I needed was a single click on a thing.
