Lovely last #RippleEffectSalisbury session of 2022

Learning about the life cycle of Atlantic Salmon and where/when they spawn in Salisbury with Jim from Environment Agency fisheries team.

Also gifting the Ripple Effect project participants Winter wellbeing boxes put together with Leigh Chalmers of #WessexArchaeology - including a series of creative activities to keep everyone going until we meet again in the Spring.

Hello, looking to follow more people interested in/working with #rivers #riverhealth #riverfutures and #riverrestoration on here… any recommendations?

Lots of ppl on the bird site but trying to spend more time on here!

My own river related research/artwork is currently focused on the #QueerRiver and #RippleEffectSalisbury projects:

About the Project

Queer River
I’ve written a new blog post:

‘Taking a Spoon for a Walk’, reflects on the relationship between my Queer River research (Queer perspectives on wetlands/future) and #RippleEffectSalisbury project (rivers/art/archaeology and wellbeing) with #WessexArchaeology & #EnvironmentAgency

The spoon became a #WalkingBundle in case you were wondering, as seen in the photo below

Queer River
A taste of this morning’s Ripple Effect (art, archaeology and wellbeing) project session, meeting Andy and Alex from Wessex Archaeology and exploring how living alongside the Salisbury Avon might have been in Palaeolithic times.
Rivers, ecology & prehistory - v much my cup of tea and very relevant to my #QueerRiver research too.
We got to handle beautiful artefacts too, including a flint axe head of up to 1/2 million years old!

A little taste of our visit to the #WessexArchaeology Environmental Archaeology department this morning.

Taking the #RippleEffectSalisbury group along as part of our #Archaeology #Art , #Ecology and #Wellbeing project, focusing on the Salisbury Avon, and work being done there by the #EnvironmentAgency.

More info on The Ripple Effect project in this blog post I wrote earlier this year:
