"What about our national media? I wouldn't ever want to muzzle Canadian news but I'd sure love to see a few DISCLAIMERS & DISCLOSURES, say for folks like the late #RexMurphy who for decades took money from #BigOil while feeding Canadians climate denial, doubt & disinformation."

#RexMurphy always heavily spiced his takes, and especially in the last 5 years of his life veered off into the ideological weeds. That said even his strongest detractors must admit that his way with words and manner of speech were mesmerizing. #RIP

Rex Murphy on Canadian values

Rex Murphy: "I'm not sure what Canadian values are but I know them when it see them."

I see #RexMurphy has died. I'm sorry to hear of it. The only other people who commanded the language as well as he did, in my book, were/are Malcolm Muggeridge and Stephen Lewis. That said, I doubt I agreed with anything Rex said in the past 20 years. I loved his slightly right of centre skepticism back in the day, but after his Globe and Mail/CBC days and into his National Post shift he seemed to get more and more blinded by the Right, so to speak.
On the day of his passing the kindest thing I can think of to say about #RexMurphy is perhaps he had a dog. #cdnpoli
The internet consensus about #RexMurphy dying is, "....at least the clouds have one less person shouting at them."

When I had a BirdChan account, I always clicked on the #RexMurphy trending item wondering if he was dead.

Now I don't have a BirdChan account and he is.

I guess #DonCherry is next.

So the CBC is just going to run the greatest hits of this ahistorical white supremacist without context or criticism permitted #RexMurphy
What an absolute shitstain and lifelong taint on the CBC that platformed the vicious, racist, fascist, shithead that was #RexMurphy.
