This month, I'm heading back to school once again to complete my LLM in Elder Law studies at Stetson University College of Law with a final course on Estate Planning🤓📚. It has been a journey, and I'm looking forward to hearing from my mentees across engineering & law on how they are progressing with AI everywhere now, too! 🤖 #ElderLaw #PlanAhead #RetireWell #LearningItAll #AIFTW https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/learning-all-back-school-again-nivine-k-zakhari-y11oe/
Learning it All: Back to School Again

If you have been following me for a while, you know I enjoy learning a lot! And it doesn't have to be in a formal degree program, esp. if there's swag involved.

This summer, I'm learning more about Disability Law and related programs, thanks to Prof. Imani Boykin and some brilliant colleagues at Stetson University College of Law. The timing could not be better, given the current FY26 Federal budget proposals that could impact eligibility and benefits for a significant number of people with special needs. Thanks to the USAFacts team for the great visuals to help break down what it all means 📊 #DisabilityLaw #ElderCare #SpecialNeeds #PlanAhead #RetireWell #MAHA

Planning Ahead: Medicare & Medicaid

I would normally be taking a summer break from my usual studies in Elder Law, but I could not pass up the opportunity to learn the latest on Disability Law from Prof. Imani Boykin at Stetson University College of Law before I complete the LLM program this fall.

This month I've been learning more about Guardianships & Alternatives, thanks to Prof. Edwin Boyer and some phenomenal Elder Law LLM classmates at Stetson University College of Law. Given all the recent changes across so many Federal departments and agencies involved in elder care related programs and services, like Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Social Security Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and more, this is an area of the law many will want to familiarize themselves with to ensure they have the right resources in place to support their long-term decision-making through less-restrictive alternatives. #ElderLaw #DisabilityLaw #PlanAhead #RetireWell

"According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of people ages 65 and older was up to 71 million in 2019, up from 41 million in 2011. The Paraprofessional Healthcare Institute, which is a nonprofit that tracks senior services nationally, however, reports there are about 2.6 million home care workers and another million might be needed by 2030, as more baby boomers age into retirement." #ElderCare #PlanAhead #RetireWell https://www.fox13news.com/news/elder-care
Florida may soon face an elder care crisis, experts warn

The baby boomer generation was named for the post-war population boom of the mid-20th century. Today, they make up roughly 40% of the U.S. population. Never before has the country had to grapple with that many people potentially in need of part- or full-time, in-home care.
