Because of circumstances and timing, I just spent the last hours watching the debate with my Trump loving stepmom. We were both as diplomatic as we could be, which is actually progress for us. These last weeks I've been at her house to help care for my dad in his last days of cancer. I'm proud that we came together as human beings with diverse politics and laid aside the competitive stuff to get my dad cared for and on to the afterlife as peacefully and painlessly as possible. The debate changed neither of our minds. Still, this time together has helped us respect and care for each other despite our different views. I'm rattling on, but before the cancer, she and my dad didn't want me around much because Democrats are evil or something. I guess tonight felt like when politics was just politics, not an all out war.
Pretty awful debate though. More of a "I know you are, but what am I"
